Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This covers paid work delivered through Whiteboard Media — website builds and the services listed on this site. It doesn't cover the separate written agreement we'd put in place for a larger or non-standard project, which takes precedence if the two ever conflict.
How payment works
Each project is invoiced as a single amount agreed before work is delivered, payable by card via PayFast or by direct bank transfer. We don't run subscriptions or recurring billing — a project is a one-time engagement, not an ongoing charge.
Cancelling before delivery
If you need to cancel after paying but before your site is delivered, get in touch as soon as possible. If work hasn't started yet, you'll get a full refund. If work is already underway, we'll refund the portion of the invoice that reflects work not yet done — assessed case by case, since projects vary.
Refunds after delivery
Once a site has been delivered and handed over — files provided, domain live, or both — the work is considered complete and the invoice is non-refundable. This is standard for custom project-based work: unlike a physical product, delivered work can't be "returned."
That said, if something we delivered doesn't match what was agreed, tell us and we'll fix it. Bug fixes and reasonable adjustments after handover aren't a refund situation — they're just part of getting it right.
Domains and third-party costs
If your project included registering a domain on your behalf, that cost is a real, non-refundable third-party expense the moment it's registered — refunding our fee doesn't undo a domain purchase already made with a registrar.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back the way payment was made — to the same card via PayFast, or by bank transfer if you paid that way. Card refunds can take a few business days to reflect, depending on your bank.
