Delivered, concept, prototype: how we label our work
Why every piece of work on this site carries a label, what each label means, and why we remove client details.
We show a lot of work on this site, and not all of it has the same standing. So each piece carries one of four labels.
Delivered
Built for a client, paid for, and approved or live. Client names, contact details, data and photographs are removed. The documents and screenshots are real or are built directly from the real thing.
Concept
Built for a business we hoped to work with, from information that business already publishes. It shows how we think and what we would build. It does not mean they are a client, and we say so on the page.
Prototype
A concept with working parts, such as a shop that already takes a real cart. Still not a client.
Own brand
Work for our own company, so nothing is removed.
Why we remove client details
A good client relationship is private. Names, prices, servers and data belong to the client. We show how we work without showing what is theirs, and where we do name a customer it is because the contract allows it.
Why bother
Because the alternative is a wall of logos and no way to tell what we built from what we only pitched. We would rather you could tell the difference.
